The Slider comes in 2 body colours
When the new Losi 1/10th Slider arrived on Thursday I was impressed with what came out the box. Here is something different from the buggy, truggy, muggy clan. I had a few family outings booked for the weekend, so what better way to test it out in the hands of a few 8 year olds and their dads.
First test of the week end was on the local basketball court. Man, this car is no slouch, give it full throttle and those large, wide back tyres will spin and then grip hard, large circuits allowed the speed to be fun and get it sideways as this car should be driven. Beware as you hit a loose patch, you will just get in spin and will need to back off to regain control. I tried the car on the grass and it has enough clearance to still get some good speed and still be controllable. If the grass is a bit patchy then you will have a few tumbles but the car is strong enough to handle those. The steering has an adjustable tension on the Servo saver that did loosen off after 20 minutes of hard bumpy driving.

The car was again brought out after lunch on Sunday for all to have a go and see how they liked it. After a few batteries, the car was still in once piece – even a few hard hits of the fence didn’t stop it, motor was a little hot and the Speed controller still working which was a good sign that Losi have a good reliable car that was fun to play around with.

I can imagine a few of these on a dirt patch, kicking up dirt as they go screaming around the track with the back end sliding all the way. This will have to wait till we visit some friends out in the country where there is an abundance of dirt area.
I managed to catch the slider in action with some photo’s, sorry no video this time – I just couldn’t keep up with it.

Note to self – I must ‘test’ this one out some more!
